The truth is our family has been out of our element. We enjoy being on the go. We love to adventure. We like checking out new places and things. We love meeting new people. If we had it our way we would be hiking right now. Or road tripping. Or checking out a new restaurant. Or sticking our feet in the ocean. You know, all the things we were doing until something within us said “Be still now. Slow down.” So we paused just long enough to see it was time for change. This is when our world as we knew it came undone. And by “undone” I mean that in the best possible way. For those of you who have been following along for awhile, you know the story. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ The past couple months have been intentionally slow paced for us. We knew it was necessary even though we didn’t fully understand why. We get it now, but that doesn’t mean it’s always been easy. The change that has taken place in our hearts over the past couple months is wide. We are thankful. It has also been such a great teaching moment for our adventurous kids. On the days where they feel antsy we remind them that we are all seeds and often the greatest growth happens when we don’t even see it. So I tell them what I tell myself: trust that the seed will grow and make the most of where you are while you wait. So today, my daughter went running over to daddy and asked him if she could paint her nails. He smiled and said “Sure!” Because why not? We have time for stuff like this right now, and isn’t that a gift? The father who worked such long hours some days, the girls would cry, and here he is today doing this. Life is a wonder. Change is beautiful. And though we know this slowness for us is temporary, it is being savored nonetheless. ❤️🙏🏾

Luke requested Daddy make the magic potion with him for this month’s @kidartlit book – #onceuponamagicbook – which all three of my kiddos have requested to read at bedtime story time over and over and over again (that purple feather!!! 🧐) So this is what happens with #processart and the boys…the magic potion may not have stayed in the sweet little magic bottle but they surely had fun making it and playing with it well after it was mixed up!
